چکیده

Push-to-talk (PTT) is a walkie-talkie like service which performs an efficient and instant voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) communication in mobile ad hoc network especially for certain circumstances, such as battle field and earthquake or disaster relief. The authors have designed and implemented the PTT mechanism in ad hoc VoIP network. The PTT server and user agent combined with the pseudo session initiation protocol (SIP) server in the implementation provide the PTT service without standalone SIP server support. The authors also conduct the experimental measurements, in terms of delay and packet loss, in the test-bed to demonstrate the realisation of PTT service in ad hoc VoIP network. T

A Push-Based VoIP Service for an Internet-Enabled Mobile Ad Hoc Network

VoIP (Voice over IP) services are gaining more popularity recently. This work considers providing VoIP services in an Internet-enabled mobile ad hoc network (MANET). Since MANET does not have a fixed connection to the Internet, we propose to attach one or multiple cellular interfaces to the gateway of the MANET to establish the connection so that users can enjoy mobile VoIP services. Connecting...

Cluster Based Cross Layer Intelligent Service Discovery for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

The ability to discover services in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major prerequisite. Cluster basedcross layer intelligent service discovery for MANET (CBISD) is cluster based architecture, caching ofsemantic details of services and intelligent forwarding using network layer mechanisms. The cluster basedarchitecture using semantic knowledge provides scalability and accuracy. Also, the mini...

A client-side design and implementation for push to talk over cellular service

This paper proposes a client architecture for the Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC) service based on the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) PoC specifications v1.0 release. We show that most standard VoIP modules can be reused for the PoC client, and the VoIP software can be easily extended to support PoC service. Then we present the detailed message flows between the PoC client and other network entiti...

Cross-Layered Secure and QoS Aware Design of VOIP over Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks

In this paper, Cross-layer design has been used to provide quality of service (QoS) and security at the same time for VOIP over the wireless ad-hoc network. In this paper the authors extend their previous work (i.e. Multi-path Multi-Channel Protocol Design for Secure QoS-Aware VOIP in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks) by adding transport and application layers considerations. The goal of this paper is ...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
